Ready To Wear Fall Winter 2012 Copenhagen

“It is my tribute to one of the rare birds of the fashion world, the genuine New Yorker, Iris Apfel, and the generation of intellectual style icons who are gradually gone. For me Iris Apfel is an icon who has for a generation perfected a both eccentric ans simple look – with the addition of her wonderfully over-dimensioned glasses. On one hand, the collection reflects a search of genuine quality, on the other it emphasizes a wish to be free and expressive in prints, choice of materials and accessories”, explains designer Susanne Rützou after her show.

And indeed the designer managed to set a libertine atmosphere in her casual yet perfectly style Autumn-Winter 2012/13 collection, by setting her runway show in the middle of Copenhagen's self-proclaimed autonomous neighborhood Christiania.

Rützou explores the potential of prints and mixed material through her garments, supplemented by sophisticated necklaces and psychadelic animal prints on low-boots.
Floating silk with crimped textures teams up with embroidered chiffon and variations of wool and angora.

The colors set a warm tone, from creamy powder nuances, to lustful honey, aubergine and bordeaux shades; the fusion of ocher and midnight blue providing a sophisticated look. Overall, eccentric, simple and sensual.
