You might regret having thrown out your heart-print jazzercise leotard and bodysuits after watching Au Jour Le Jour's fall/winter show. Or you might not.
The dynamite duo Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez did what they do best this season: kitsch.
With Bianca Jagger as their muse, they propelled her into the 21st century social-media, overstimulated generation and dressed her up in lightning flash and blue and purple diamond print and hot pink and black leopard tights that would likely make the former Mrs. Mick scream.
And they pulled it all off without the ironic phrases borrowed from archived media and pop culture prints and focused more on the ready-to-wear aspect, which is not for the weak of fashion mind.
Pimped out jacquard suits, surreal rainbow graffiti-like maiden patterns and bright red kidassia fur jackets echoed the seventies glamour of Studio 54. Bell bottoms were brought back in full force — rhinestone-covered and in lace.
The three-in-one disco bag assembled with three vinyl-shaped clutches, which can be detached and used separately, infused the collection with a juvenile touch, reminding us it takes a very young spirit to churn out a collection as daring and as wild as Au Jour Le Jour's fall/winter 2015.
