Ever since the brand’s relaunch in February, Chief Creative Officer Martin Cooper has managed to couple remaining true to the brand’s outerwear codes while injecting a modern sensibility. For his first pre-fall collection, Cooper, for lack of a better term, let loose somewhat, showcasing fabulous coats suited not only for jet-setting travel but practically speaking, for luxury day-to-day wear. Totally urban, yes, but with just the right amount of utility chic - a beige bonded wool coat with graphic leather inserts was on point.
Oversized proportions were evident throughout the lineup, all the while playing with the ideas of masculine vs feminine: beautiful thick sweaters, slim leather pants and the perfect A-line leather skirt, a vamped slim-cut cropped suit, versatile silk dresses with snap-patch pockets and belted collars and, of course, that iconic quilted black jacket. New on the pattern front is a plum camouflaged on both a jacquard coat and as a blouse print.
