Designer Umberto Foddis has one thing on his mind: the pretty, flirty nature of women, and how that can be highlighted through clothes that mix flattering cuts and tiny fun details. For this season, he’s allowed himself to get in touch with his crazier side, and create pairings that are as colorful as he is.
From his Sardinian origins, Foddis developed a love of highlighted femininity which he explored in with his experiences in the Roman fashion industry, before founding his own brand.
Shown in the Luxury Vendôme trade show, the emphasis on his Summer 14 was very much on eveningwear, and the combinations that Foddis offered up were endless. A lace brassiere was a pretty update to the lingerie trend, and one looked revealing while staying quite demure. A deep blue taffeta with large white dots had the classic princess touch to it. Even sweeter was it as a bubble skirt that dressed up a printed tank top. His polka dot mix jackets, draped to highlight the narrowness of the back may not be for everyone, but for a lady with the same kind of fun-loving, free-wheeling spirit, it’s just the thing.
