Made in Armani closes Milan Fashion Week

Simply Made in Armani: a disarmingly clear message. The King of Made in Italy menswear - and the designer rewrote the rules of the modern man’s wardrobe - closes the menswear fashion week in Milan with his singular message.”This collection is very Armani, it’s very much my world.” Mr. Armani explained to MFF, ready to immortalize his image, while surrounded by his models for Spring/Summer 2018. A collection that is the culmination of the designer’s creative thoughts from the very beginning, starting from Richard Gere in “American Gigolo”. “There’s always a jacket, because it is a must have piece. The two piece suit returns to the runway. The long overcoat that guys are going crazy for today.” With a chromatic palette that explores the designer’s most loved hue: that iconic greige. But there was also a plethora of natural hues, exploding in a blinding white finale. White that seemed like an homage to the designer’s version of Pantelleria. Because more than ever before, the overall message this season seemed personal and intimate. Translated into nearly ninety looks that embodied the visual codes of Giorgio Armani’s beliefs. Starting from men in platforms to more natural walks, to everyday turn ups. Children of a liberal beauty, wearing double breasted jackets like uniforms, Korean collars, mother of pearl details, fluidly constructed trousers and deconstructed architectural silhouettes that balanced on the shape of the body. With small inserts of urbanwear, delicately painted, tone on tone patterns, micro geometric prints and versatile knits. From sailor style stripes to optical illusions. Overall, there was no lack of sophisticated blues, urban greys, and adventurous khakis all with the restraint of asian influences. That’s not to the exclusion of more playful hues such as turquoises, amethysts and cobalts which all appeared on the runway too. Precious shades that blend into white. Pure, extreme, intense, and emblematic of a modern man who enjoys modern sophisticated tailoring with fluid formality.
